University of Calcutta invites the applications for admission to PhD in statistics through entrance test. Intrested and eligible candidates can apply on or before 31^st August, 2018.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Candidates with M Sc or equivalent degree in Statistics and allied subjects from any UGC recognized University/Institute with 55% marks in aggregate (SC / ST/OBC with 50% marks) are eligible to apply for admission to the Ph.D. programme.
NOTE:

• In case of candidates from other Universities, admission for the PhD Programme will proceed after determination of equivalence by the relevant University body and fulfillment of the admission criteria.
• Foreign students will be required to produce clearance from the government of India and/or other appropriate authorities, if any, for admission to the PhD Programme. Enrolment in the PhD Programme may be allowed to only such foreign nationals as have obtained and are holding research visa.
• The non-creamy layer certificate would have to be submitted by OBC candidates.

ADMISSION PROCESS:
The admission procedure consists of a written test followed by an interview for candidates successful in the same. Those who have cleared UGC/CSIR (JRF) examinations/ NET / SET (Mathematical Sciences) / GATE (Mathematics) or hold DST INSPIRE Fellowship/ Teachers’ Fellowship or have obtained M Phil degree in Statistics and allied subjects or M Tech (QR&OR) degree of ISI prior to the application deadline will be exempted from the written examination but will have to appear in the interview.

PhD program-2017 from NIT Goa

National Institute of Technology, NIT, Goa, invites applications are for admission to full – time PhD programme (Regular scheme) for the academic year 2016-17(Even Semester). Interested and eligible candidates can apply on or before 25^th November, 2016.

ADMISSION DETAILS:

• Engineering and Technology: Master’s Degree in Engineering or Technology (M.E. or M. Tech.) in the relevant discipline with a minimum 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 60% marks in both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels from recognized Technical Institute or University. For SC/ST candidates a minimum 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 55% marks. Preference will be given to those candidates who possess good GATE score.
• Humanities & Sciences (Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, English and Economics): Master’s degree in Sciences or Humanities / M. Tech. in the relevant area with a minimum 6.5 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 60% marks in both Bachelor’s and Master’s levels from recognized Institute or University. For SC/ST candidates a minimum 6.0 CGPA on a 10 point scale grading system or 55% marks

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION:
Candidates will be considered for PhD.programme on the basis of GATE score or CSIR/NBHM/UGC-NET qualified.
