LIC Golden Jubilee Scholarship 2013-14 for Intermediate and 10th Class students

Life Insurance Corporation of India Golden Jubilee Foundation invites applications for LIC Scholar award from students belonging to the economically weaker families for pursuing higher studies.

LIC Golden Jubilee Foundation was established on 20-10-2006, and registered with Charity Commissioner under Bombay Public Trust Act 1950 with the objective of promoting education, health, relief of poverty or distress and advancement of other objects of general public utility.

The scholarship is to be awarded for studies in India in a government or private college/university. It will also cover technical and vocational courses in Industrial Training Institutes/ Industrial Training Centres affiliated with the National Council for Vocational Training (NCVT) of classes at Graduation level.

Eligibility Critiria:
  • Students who have passed Class XII exam or its equivalent in the academic Year 2013-14 with at least 60% marks or equivalent grade and annual income of whose parents/guardian from all sources does not exceed Rs.1,00,000/- per annum and are interested to pursue higher education in the field of Medicine, Engineering, Graduation in any discipline, Diploma Course in any field or other equivalent courses.
  • Or students who have passed Class X or equivalent with at least 60% marks and are interested to pursue Vocational Courses through Government recognized Colleges/Institutes or courses in Industrial Training Institutes (ITI).
Number of Scholarships:
Totally 20 (10 for male and 10 for female) students eligible this scholorship in each LIC Zone

Selection Procedure:
Family background and marks obtained in qualifying examination forms the basis of selection for LIC Scholar. Those with lowest annual family income will be given preference. Professional students who secure not more than 55% marks in the previous final examination of the course will be continually made available with the benefits of the scholarship. In case of Arts/ Science/ Commerce graduates, the cut off marks for continuing scholarship is 50%.

Trinity College Dublin scholarships for Indian students

Trinity College, Dublin, Ireland has announced the launch of postgraduate scholarships for Indian students.

The scholarships are being offered in any of the university's taught masters courses offered in Arts, Humanities, Social Sciences, Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics and Health Sciences. Scholarships are valued at 3,000 each for one year.

The university's Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences is offering five scholarships in its taught postgraduate courses.

The Faculty of Health Sciences has five scholarships for its taught postgraduate courses and the Faculty of Engineering, Mathematics and Science has four scholarships for its taught postgraduate courses.

Additionally, two postgraduate research scholarships valued at 6,000 per year are being offered for three years for full-time study on a PhD programme. The scholarships can be for postgraduate research in any discipline of the faculty provided the supervision expertise is available.

The College is ranked sixty fifth in the world by the QS World University Rankings and has a long history of being an university with the launch of sixteen postgraduate scholarships for Indian students .
